The idea of opening some faculties of the university in Damietta arose when the number of Mansoura University students from Damietta increased in the various faculties, then decisions were issued to establish the faculties of the branch successively in accordance with the regulations of the corresponding faculties at Mansoura University, so work began at the Faculty of Education in the academic year 1976-1977, followed by the Faculties of Science and Commerce in the academic year 85-1986, followed by the Faculty of Specific Education in the year 90-1991, then the Faculty of Applied Arts in the year 2004-2005, and the Faculties of Agriculture, Arts and Physical Education in the academic year 2006-2007.
Beni Suef University

Cairo University Beni Suef branch was established in 1981, Beni Suef University was established under Presidential Decree No. (84) of 2005 and became independent from the prestigious Cairo University

Helwan University

Sohag University

The first center for university education in Sohag Governorate began at the Faculty of Education in 1971, and in 1975, the Faculties of Arts and Sciences were established, then this center turned into a branch of Assiut University in Sohag after the Faculty of Commerce was established in 1980, and in 1991 work began at the Faculty of Medicine, which was issued by a presidential decree in 1978, and in 1995 the university branch in Sohag became a branch of South Valley University, and its main center is Qena

In 1996, the Faculty of Agriculture was established, and with the issuance of President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak’s decision to establish Sohag University in 2006, the faculties of industrial education and nursing were added to the university, then in 2008 the Republican decree was issued to establish the faculties of engineering and veterinary medicine, and the number of faculties at the university became ten colleges, and in 2010 and to meet the needs of the Sohag community, the decision was issued to establish the faculties of pharmacy and physical education

In 2015, the faculties of law and Al-Alsun were opened to meet the needs of the Sohag community, then the Faculty of Archeology was established by Prime Minister’s Decree No. 3512 of 2015, and the study began in the academic year 2016-2017, then the Faculty of Computers and Information was established, bringing the number of faculties of the university to 16 colleges in addition to the Technical Institute of Nursing

The university has played an important role since its establishment in 2006 in supporting the development process and participating in national issues with all its human and technical capabilities and various expertise, through the contributions of its centers and units of a special nature in community service and environmental development, including services in various fields

The sun of the ancient Port Said University shone with the decision of His Excellency the President of the Republic on 24/2/2010 to convert the branch of the Suez Canal University in Port Said into an independent university, Port Said University is the university that was born and has a history that exceeds the age of the decision to establish it, where the first faculties were born, which is the Faculty of Engineering in 1975 when it was affiliated with Helwan University and then became affiliated with the Suez Canal University with the emergence of Suez Canal University in 1976
