The idea of opening some faculties of the university in Damietta arose when the number of Mansoura University students from Damietta increased in the various faculties, then decisions were issued to establish the faculties of the branch successively in accordance with the regulations of the corresponding faculties at Mansoura University, so work began at the Faculty of Education in the academic year 1976-1977, followed by the Faculties of Science and Commerce in the academic year 85-1986, followed by the Faculty of Specific Education in the year 90-1991, then the Faculty of Applied Arts in the year 2004-2005, and the Faculties of Agriculture, Arts and Physical Education in the academic year 2006-2007.

Cairo University Beni Suef branch was established in 1981, Beni Suef University was established under Presidential Decree No. (84) of 2005 and became independent from the prestigious Cairo University

The university includes the Faculty of Commerce, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Science, the College of Education, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Industrial Education, the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Physical Education

The study system at the university is on two semesters, except for the Faculty of Medicine, where the duration of study in each semester is 15 weeks, followed by the end of the semester exam, and the general result of the band is at the end of the academic year. The number of graduates since the start of the study in the faculties of Beni Suef until 2007 for 62,321 graduates from various colleges and institutes

Helwan University was established in 1975 on an area of 350 acres, which is the latest among the three public universities in Cairo, and Helwan University is located 25 km south of Cairo in the heart of Helwan

The university consists of 23 different faculties distributed over several different locations in the governorates of Cairo and Giza, and although Helwan University is the latest among the three public universities in Greater Cairo, it includes some of the oldest faculties in Egypt and the Middle East, such as the Faculty of Applied Arts, which was founded in 1839, the Faculty of Fine Arts, which was founded in 1908, and the Faculty of Art Education, which was founded in 1936

Helwan University has established three new faculties out of these 23 faculties: the Faculty of Medicine, Graduate Studies and Environmental Research and the National Institute for Intellectual Property

The university’s future plan to establish colleges

The university plans to establish new colleges, including the completion of the establishment of the medical complex, which includes (the College of Medicine – the College of Pharmacy – the College of Dentistry – the College of Physical Therapy – and the College of Nursing.) as well as the University Hospital. Out of national responsibility for the reconstruction of Sinai, the university opened classes for the Faculty of Education and classes for the Faculty of Arts in Tur Sinai as a nucleus for the establishment of the university branch in South Sinai Governorate

The first center for university education in Sohag Governorate began at the Faculty of Education in 1971, and in 1975, the Faculties of Arts and Sciences were established, then this center turned into a branch of Assiut University in Sohag after the Faculty of Commerce was established in 1980, and in 1991 work began at the Faculty of Medicine, which was issued by a presidential decree in 1978, and in 1995 the university branch in Sohag became a branch of South Valley University, and its main center is Qena

In 1996, the Faculty of Agriculture was established, and with the issuance of President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak’s decision to establish Sohag University in 2006, the faculties of industrial education and nursing were added to the university, then in 2008 the Republican decree was issued to establish the faculties of engineering and veterinary medicine, and the number of faculties at the university became ten colleges, and in 2010 and to meet the needs of the Sohag community, the decision was issued to establish the faculties of pharmacy and physical education

In 2015, the faculties of law and Al-Alsun were opened to meet the needs of the Sohag community, then the Faculty of Archeology was established by Prime Minister’s Decree No. 3512 of 2015, and the study began in the academic year 2016-2017, then the Faculty of Computers and Information was established, bringing the number of faculties of the university to 16 colleges in addition to the Technical Institute of Nursing

The university has played an important role since its establishment in 2006 in supporting the development process and participating in national issues with all its human and technical capabilities and various expertise, through the contributions of its centers and units of a special nature in community service and environmental development, including services in various fields

The sun of the ancient Port Said University shone with the decision of His Excellency the President of the Republic on 24/2/2010 to convert the branch of the Suez Canal University in Port Said into an independent university, Port Said University is the university that was born and has a history that exceeds the age of the decision to establish it, where the first faculties were born, which is the Faculty of Engineering in 1975 when it was affiliated with Helwan University and then became affiliated with the Suez Canal University with the emergence of Suez Canal University in 1976

Suez Canal University is an Egyptian university serving the Suez Canal area. Its faculties are distributed over the three governorates in the Suez Canal area (Port Said, Ismailia and Suez)

It was founded in 1974. It is known for its non-traditional research and has 48 faculties (16 in Ismailia, 13 in Port Said, 10 in Suez and 9 in Arish) with a total student population of 21,325

Aswan University branch was established in 1976 as a branch of Assiut University. The study began in October of the academic year 1973/1974 at the Faculty of Education and the first bachelor’s degree was awarded in 1978 and then began to join the master’s degree at the Faculty of Science in the academic year 1977/1978 after that enrollment for a doctorate degree began in the academic year 1977/1978. In 1995, Presidential Decree No. 23 of 1995 was issued to establish South Valley University and its branch in Aswan, then new faculties were established (Faculty of Arts – Faculty of Social Work – Faculty of Engineering)

In 2012 Aswan University was established as a public university by Presidential Decree No. 311 of June 11, 2013, and now includes 15 faculties (Faculties of Arts, Education, Science, Social Work, Engineering, Energy Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Nursing, Languages and Translation, Medicine, Fisheries Technology, Commerce, Specific Education, Archaeology)

Benha University is considered the thirteenth in terms of origin among universities.
