After five years of residence in Portugal, you will be able to apply for Portuguese citizenship by naturalization. This applies if you have a D2 visa.
You may be able to apply sooner. As of 2024, time counts since you apply for accommodation, not when you get your residency card after your appointment with AIMA.
In the past, it may take 6 to 12 months to get your residence permit.
Study Visa in Portugal:
Check if you really need a student visa. Normally, if you are an EU citizen and want to study in another EU country, there is no need for a visa.
Some other non-EU countries may also be exempted from a visa, at least for an initial period.
