About Al Fayoum University
In 1975, the Faculty of Education in Fayoum was established as one of the faculties of Cairo University. In 1976, the Faculty of Agriculture in Fayoum was established. In 1981, the Faculty of Engineering was established. In 1983, the Presidential Decree was issued to consider the university branch in Fayoum as an independent branch of Cairo University. Finally, the dream of the people of Fayoum was achieved by the issuance of the Republican Decree No. (84) of 2005 to establish the University of Fayoum and then the Republican Decree No. (193) of 2005 to establish the Colleges of Medicine and Archaeology and the decisions were crowned by the decision to appoint Dr. Jalal Mustafa Said as President of the university.

Required documents to secure admission to the bachelor stage:
- Detection of high school signs
- A copy of the original student’s passport
- Colored personal photo
- Photocopy of father and mother’s passport
Required documents to complete the student registration at the university for the bachelor’s level:
- Original high school grades attested by the Foreign Ministry and the Egyptian Embassy
- Original Birth Certificate
- Valid Passport – Color photocopy of passport
- 8 selfies with white background
- A judicial agency for the institution’s representative in Cairo to complete the student registration procedures at the university
Bachelor Stage:
- The student pays a first-time enrollment installation fee of $1,500 paid only once.
- Medical and dental schools $6,000 per year.
- The faculties of Engineering, Computing, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy $5,000 per year.
- Colleges of Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Science and Nursing $4,000 per year.
- The rest of the colleges and other institutes are $3000 per year.
University Infrastructure
- The university campus covers an area of 50 acres and is located in the University quarter in the city of Fayoum.
- The new campus is on an area of 100 acres in the new Fayoum area.
- The university administration building includes the office of the university president and his deputies.
- The Grand Ballroom has a capacity of 1000 chairs and is also equipped with the latest sound, lighting and central air conditioning equipment.
- It accommodates about 4500 students and achieves the largest absorption of university students among Egyptian universities.
- Central Printing Press, Central Restaurant and Medical Administration.
About University Housing
- 1. The university cities were houses for students and students were represented in a residential building for students in the inspection area and a residential building for students in the area of Kayman Fares and these houses were under the direct supervision of the Fayoum City Council and its services were limited to residence only.
- 2. In the academic year 85/1986, coordination was made between the university administration in Fayoum and Fayoum Governorate to devolve the subordination of these university cities to the university to provide all the services provided to the students of other university cities and this was achieved as of December 1985.
- 3. In the academic year 90/1991, a new university city was built in the area of Kayman Fares for students and has a capacity for 300 students (Iskan No. 1).
