Ranked 801-1000 in the world and 12th in the Arab region, Alexandria University was founded in 1938 as a branch of Cairo University and became a separate institution in 1942 and renamed as “Alexandria University” in 1952 It has since expanded from 7 to 22 colleges and is in the process of acquiring a branch in Juba, Sudan such as Ain Shams University and it is a large university with about 152,305 students currently enrolled.
Alexandria University is one of the largest Egyptian universities and the third university established after Cairo University and the American University in Cairo, where it was established in 1938 as a branch of Cairo University and in July 1952, it became the “Alexandria University” The establishment of new colleges and modern specializations until the number of its institutions currently reached 21 colleges and 3 institutes specialized in graduate studies and in 2010 two branches of the university were established in African countries.
