Admission requirements for international students are often specific to the university and degree program they have chosen, usually as follows:

• Completed application form (undergraduate and postgraduate studies).
• Translation and evaluation of texts/credentials.

Proof of your English proficiency by taking an English language test. The most widely known English language tests for international students in New Zealand include:

• International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic).
• Cambridge English: Advanced Level (CAE) and Proficiency (CPE).

Subject-specific tests you may need for your course including the GRE Graduate Records Tests, the UCAT ANZ University Clinical Aptitude Test for Australia and New Zealand which is intended for students of medicine, dentistry and clinical science.

• High School Certificate, Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree (as applicable).
• Medical examination and immunization records (if required).
